Kid's Comics

I might...just might... be considered as an artist/author for a serial kid's comic for a magazine. Below is one of the pages I've been working on, half-finished. I tell you what, I used to write and draw comics for my college newspaper and have forgotten how complicated it can be laying out text and images so that they all work design-wise, and come across clearly. This was quite a challenge, but it was a heck of a lot of fun! The first speech bubble and magazine are both blurred because they have information about who I'm submitting to. These projects are TOP SECRET. If I tell you, I'd have to kill you. Sorry, had to quote "Top Gun" there. ;-)

I am sure the TOP SECRET will be safe with you and that the editors who see your work will be delighted with your illustrations. I know from first hand experience how hard it is to get those speech bubbles to behave.

Your illustrations are sure to wow the editors and more importantly the children who are lucky enough to see them.
The colors, style, design and imagination in each of your illustrations is always delightful!

I love your stuff! Great colors and expression! I've done a few cartoons, too, and they're lots of fun!

Thanks VERY much gals! I was so nervous about sending it. It won't be until April before they start picking artists that they feel are right for the job. I can't wait to see how it all works out!

Meanwhile I'm going to keep busy strengthening my portfolio, sending postcards and working on my book dummy.
