More Sketches

Sorry to have been a little out of touch lately, I've had a lot on my plate so to speak and have been keeping busy :0) Anyhow, hope everyone's enjoying the arrival of spring as much as I am!  These were taken with my cell phone haha.  I bought a brush pen so I can quickly outline my sketches to get a feel for what they may look like in brush and ink.

Ok decided I wanted to soften the images a bit with charcoal drawings used for the background.

Another Spread

Again, these are rough color sketches for a dummy book.

More Experimenting!

Rougher charcoal texture on the bear suit, added some clouds and the gradation of yellow to orange is less severe.

Round Two Dummy Book

Decided on a more limited color scheme, and added some tension between the characters on the first two pages.  That way the page turn brings them together and has a warmer feeling with the "Eskimo kiss" :)

More Dummy Book Pages

After I finish drawing in the images I'm going to be binding it with book cloth/board and a little ribbon to tie the book shut.  Got the idea to do this from a Chris Raschka video.  Check it out!
