Illustration Friday : Remember

childhood
Sometimes you're on your way out to do chores or errands, or go to work--all those adult things, and kids run by riding bikes, or playing hide and seek. You try to remember who you were when you were that age. And you miss how simple things used to be.

A video of the making of this illustration is below! Enjoy :0)

So true! Hey, thanks for showing how you did it! I am all inspired to dig out my old watercolor tray and buy some new tubes. What kind of pencil are you using for the edges, could not quite see the brand...but I liked how it went on.

Glad you guys liked the video, and thanks for the kind comments, they're much appreciated!

Hi Nancy, I use Prismacolor colored pencils - black for foreground usually, brown for background, and greens sometimes for foliage. Make sure to get a good sharpener or the leads will dislodge and fall out. These pencils have really strong pigmentation which like.

Cool! I was surprised to see you started with the shadow on the characters, then added the main color. Also surprised to see your use of Prismas. I can't really see those details from the size here. Okay, Paige...How 'bout a demo of you inking...? : D

Really fun and very interesting. I think it is so neat that you use a little dryer to speed up the process.
Thanks for taking the time to share!

Gosh, that was fun to watch! You seem so confident with your paintings. I really enjoyed watching the process. And the music was perfect. I love "Blackbird" it was so sweet and peaceful and then you cranked it up and got down to business with "What'd I say". Too funny. Thanks for sharing!

Ditto to what everyone said! Your work is great Paige! I too enjoyed the video and your unique techniques. I was mostly curious as to what paper you use and if you stretch it or not. Thanks for letting us see your techniques!

Great to see you in action - and a hairdryer, why did I never think of that? So many times I have had colours running together because I have been too impatient to wait until they are dry! :)

Thoroughly enjoyed that, thanks! Neat editing!
Interesting to hear about the pens you use. On the last video did I see you using a bottle of ink? Why that instead of w/col?

Great work again Paige.
