Illustration Friday : Sprout

"When eating bamboo sprouts, remember the man who planted them." -Chinese proverb

I don't imagine this panda is thinking a thing about who planted his sprouts, only that they taste soooo gooood. YUM!

Also, this is completely unrelated to Illustration Friday - just posting a quick character study for an early reader.

Isn't it prophetic that you posted a Panda just as the Chinese New Year happened (Feb.2) Your images are wonderful. What a marvelous imagination you have!
If I could live anywhere else in the entire universe I would like to live in one of your storybooks.

Sprout and Barnyard dance are my faves. Great work! Are you using watercolor or Dr. Martins dyes? Just curious.

ha- very fun! wish I could do that. Being up high in bamboo always reminds me of that scene in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. BTW, LOVE your new banner!
