Very cool.
My favorite illustrator is Barbara Firth. I fell in love with her work when I happened upon the children's book "Can't You Sleep, Little Bear?" while working in a bookstore back in 1992.

Years later, I sent her the manuscript of my own children's book. She liked it and forwarded it to an editor she knew, and I just missed getting it published - (as Maxwell Smart would say) - "by that much".

Anyway, enjoy your gift and... "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" (tomorrow).

Thanks everyone!! :0) I'll make sure to post a picture of it framed and on my wall. I'm getting my studio painted this month, so that will really help it stand out.

Paige ~
Yes, Barbara was exceptionally nice! She wrote to me that she liked the "Prodigal Son" aspect of my story, which, of course, was clearly my intent.

Unfortunately, at that time, I think all publishers of children's stories were looking for the next "Harry Potter", which definitely worked against me. Oh well...

I will forever appreciate Barbara's effort on my behalf.
