Rest In Peace, Beloved Georgia

Thanks to all who sent well wishes and prayers for Georgia. She was able to spend one last day at home with family after she got out of the vet. Georgia is the dog on the left.

Near this Spot
are deposited the Remains of one
who possessed Beauty without Vanity,
Strength without Insolence,
Courage without Ferocity,
and all the virtues of Man without his Vices.
This praise, which would be unmeaning Flattery
if inscribed over human Ashes,
is but a just tribute to the Memory of
BOATSWAIN, a DOG,
who was born in Newfoundland May 1803
and died at Newstead Nov. 18, 1808.
But the poor Dog, in life the firmest friend,
The first to welcome, foremost to defend,
Whose honest heart is still his Master’s own,
Who labors, fights, lives, breathes for him alone
-Lord Byron

So sorry Paige... I know how incredibly hard it is to loose a pet. They give us so much, don't they? My heart goes out to you.

I'm so sad to hear this, but what a beautiful tribute to her (both visually and verbally). She'll be with you always. How lucky you were to have her. Take care.

I'm sorry Paige. When my kitty died, I wrote a lot about him and I drew lots of pitures. It helped a lot.

I'm so sorry, Paige. I lost both my precious pets this summer so I feel your pain. Your sweet piece here in honor of Georgia is lovely. She was fortunate and blessed to have you as her human. Hugs.

I´m really sorry, Paige. I lost two dogs this year, and I know pretty well the feeling. It´s very hard.Living with them is always a wonderful opportunity, to feel all that happiness ( they are incredibly good on that :), improve our patience, to learn a lot about love.
It´s a very beautiful tribute you made for her.
All my best wishes for you.

Oh, Paige, I'm so very sorry to hear about Georgia. I know how you feel, and I know it's not easy saying goodbye to such a good, loving friend.

Your tribute to her, this wonderfully sweet watercolor and the poem by Lord Byron is very moving.

I'll be thinking of you and your family.

Oh Paige, I am so so sorry to hear about your loss. It is a sadness I have known and I can understand. But how wonderful that Georgia had YOU to care for her so lovingly for all the years that she was your devoted friend.

I am so sorry to hear about your pet. I know that there are really no words that can help at this time, but know that my thoughts are with you.

Paige, I'm so sorry to hear the news of Georgia's passing. My 15 year old collie passed in 2006, but there will always be a special spot in my heart for her. Dogs are one of God's greatest gifts. I hope George will lead you to a new furry friend to love. She would want you to feel that joy again. Take care.
