It's Here! It's Here!

I recently put together a book dummy using Blurb.com to print it in softcover, and it finally arrived today (after five long days of tracking it from state to state, starting in WA)!  I'll be sending this off to my agents at Cornell & McCarthy to pass around to different publishing companies--YAY!  This is the first dummy book I've really seen through to the end; the first book that I didn't scrap half-way through due to a weak story line, or because it wasn't working overall.  Even if no one picks this book up, it's still one step closer to my dream of becoming an author since I learned so much creating it.

Brilliant! How clever you are to work it all out through Blurb. Are you pleased with the reproduction quality?
I hope this catches the attention of a lovely publisher.

Congrats on writing and illustrating this through to the end (something I'm still working on)! The cover is lovely, and I wish you and this story all the best on the journey to authorship.

I think that you should sell it through a print on demand if it doesn't get picked up... that cover is so adorable~

Thanks everyone!! :0)

June, I'm extremely happy with their print quality. I did a full color book for my niece a couple years ago and it came out great!

That is good to hear Paige... I may give Blurb a try myself, if I can ever find the time to sit down and plan my own ideas!

Hey Paige,

The recent alligator pics are great. Really nice! And I'll be crossing my fingers like everyone else that this new dummy (and first official it seems) dummy finds a home :)

Thanks Erik! :-D

June: yeah it took me a while to find a span of time to work on my own project. There was a small opening after christmas when I was waiting on a publisher for sketch responses. Between life and payed work, it's definitely a challenge!
