"Print The Legend"

Howdy Pardner! This here is my tribute to Westerns - a favorite genre of mine. John Ford, Sergio Leone, and Howard Hawks come to mind.... Check out their movies, you will not be disappointed! Of the three I'd start out with Sergio Leone - with his stylized, operatic spaghetti Westerns. You'll look at film a completely different way after viewing his masterpieces.

"When the legend becomes fact, print the legend." - The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)

I really like the mix of color and black & white! Seems to make the piece pop more.

How fun! My husbands favorite move is the 'Man who Shot Liberty Valance' along with a lot of John Wayne classics.
Your illustration is delightful and so so well done. It has its own classic interaction as well.

Love this illustration! Brings back those summer memories of when kids would go to the movies for fun, entertainment and air conditioning. My mom used to tell me stories about the movies she would go see for just a nickel or a dime. :)

This is brilliant, Paige. Love the contrast of the color with the black and white.

Thanks so much everyone for the comments! Glad there are others out there who appreciate the old westerns. They're really something special - and I hope they don't ever get lost in time. :0)

This is so warm, and... Cute? Yes I can say so, it's for kids.
Very nice picture.
I'm browsing your blog on regular basis, but only now have decide to leav my comment. Why? Simply because it's about WESTERN! And I'm great fan of it.
