Oooooh, I love the raccoon. Although he seems a little brown (vs. gray) for a raccoon but he is very warm and friendly.

Thanks Gina! I did a little research on them while working on the character sketch. There are brown raccons : "Raccoons can vary in color, and their coats may contain shades of grey, reddish brown, or tan."

Paige, you inspire me. I just love looking at your work and how much you improve all the time and how hard you work! I can't wait until you're famous and I can tell people how nice you are and how they should buy your books!

I love the way you've given human expression to these! I'm drawing an animal a day at the moment trying to get to know the shapes. I've drawn a lot of humans in the past, but not animals. I've got something great to aspire to here! Thanks for the inspiration :)

I agree with everyone's comments. I love the raccoon. He looks like a sneaky but harmless character. I also like the loose way you did the woodgrain.

This Racoon has a special quality Paige. You have created a fun charcter, and I can imagine him having all kinds of adventures... and getting into a few mishaps along the way no doubt :o)
I would love to see more pictures of him.
