Postcard Countdown

Okay, this is my very first attempt at sending a postcard. Four hundred of them hit the mail today. So now, there's nothing left to do but sit back and wait. Yes I will be checking my website stats about 1000 times a day. I'll give a full report, for better or for worse.

Your first postcard, eh? I think direct mail is the cheapest and most effective form of promotion.

But it's more of a never ending process than an event...

I suppose you've seen this great link about promotion by Holli Conger?

I think she just about covers everything.
That AmazingMail is really amazing... they have a great database service. And you can just send 1 card if you like... or 300. I always send myself the card first to check how the color came out.

Good luck!

Thanks John! Before-hand I used to send sample packets with cover letter etc, but then when I got an agent I stopped doing any promotional stuff. I think from now on though I'm going to send out a postcard every three months - extra advertising never hurts! Oh and I love Holli's articles and information - she's the promo queen! I've learned a great deal from her site.

Thanks very much Erin!

400 cards!!!! Wow... I wouldn't be able to come up with that many people to send to myself.
Good luck Paige, I am sure something good will come from your hard work.

As for, which style to use for your manuscript? ...Well that is easy, just choose to use 'your own charming style' because that is what will come most easily to you :¬)
(I know this isn't what you really meant)
