"Stars" is a fictional title of the book the little boy is holding. My friend Rob is an astronomy junkie so I also had to add his name as author. :-)

This picture arrived in a fury of creative excitement. Whether the color image will come out right, I don't know, but the sketch sure was fun to draw. I love when your so enthused about an idea, that your drawing hand shoots nervously around the paper trying to get it down before it fades.

This is going to be my illustration friday submission when it's done (that is...if it comes out the way I want). I'm a terrible perfectionist - I think that aspect of my personality puts a limit on my growth as an artist. I'm trying my best to change that but it's hard.
