Safari Sketch

Hey fellow picture book addicts, I'm back to clear the cobwebs off this blog - my gosh there are lots of them.  I'm currently working on a promo postcard for the spring..here's my sketch:

Of course, when I'm happy with the sketch I get super anxious about doing the painting part of it.  Choosing the wrong colors and line quality could completely ruin the whole thing- fingers crossed that it all works out!

Oh my goodness, Paige! This is PERFECT just the way it is! But I still can't wait to see it in color. Just scan it just as it is and then print it onto the watercolor paper and play! Then there's no pressure of messing up the sketch! I really love this sketch!!!! Have fun!

Wonderful!! I love the composition, the little bird, the shadow shape on the little boy, all of it!! I'm always nervous before and during painting. Anxiety stinks! This will turn out great though. I'm sure of it:)

Beautiful sketch Paige. And I agree with Phyllis, try scanning and printing out onto watercolour paper to keep the joy of the sketch. The pencil shading on the elephant adds well to his skin texture.
