Doggie Made From Socks

I'm especially proud of one of the arms--which was sewn with a sewing machine!  The rest was hand-stitched, although I think from now on I'm a sewing machine convert: much faster and with perfectly even stitches to boot.  It took me several hours of youtube videos to figure out how to thread and use the thing--much more complicated than it first appears.

Don't worry Risky (my Jack Russell Terrier), this pup is not going to replace my favorite studio assistant!

Cute! I, too, have a sewing machine aversion I need to overcome.

Paige, you are a woman after my own heart. I AM SO INTO sock dogs. After Christmas, I was very close to buying the sock and glove book you mentioned. I have some lovely books that I still thumb through and say i willll work on them eventually. Hope you are having a blast!
These are really cute and pull at my heart strings. Geez, what is that about? Childhood memories? =o)

Thanks everyone! And me too Lucie--I think it's the whole getting my fingers caught under the needle possibility issue. I'm slowly getting more comfortable lol.

Hi Roz! I am definitely having a blast, although in between times of frustration with my machine--apparently I have a lemon model so it jams if you even look at it funny lol. If I'm still at this in a few months, I'll look into getting a better model. Oh definitely lots of nostalgia with sock animals! I haven't yet made an actual sock monkey yet. Haven't found any socks with the classic heal yet so might drop by Ross's. Do you use a sewing machine? Mine still seems like a big scary alien to me right now haha.
