Wow it's a Cow was in the Border's Baby section!
If I reach ninety years of age, and I'm still a children's illustrator, I'll probably always take photos of my books when I find them in stores. It really is a surreal sort of feeling and I don't think it will ever get to be old hat.

Congratulations!!!!!What an incredible feeling that must be.
YOWSA! What a great idea. And what a wonderful book. Since I have a copy I know what I am talking about. How hard was it to create a lift the flap book anyway? Have you thought about posting a part of the process. Did it mean two paintings for every page, Paige? ( I just had to say that)
Anyhow... congratulations this is a beautiful picture for tons of reasons and you look extremely delighted!
Oh how exciting!!!!! You must be over the moon (just like the cow that jumped over!) well done :)

Congratulations!So exciting!What a great photo!
Congrats Paige - This would be a great scrapbook.
Thanks so much for all the sweet messages and congrats :,)
Hi Ginger!! Yes I actually did have to two paintings - one with the background and underneath the flap animal, then I did a 4 x 5 painting with the overflap animal and a repeat of the background. It was actually pretty challenging and I had to think about my compositions a little differently since the animals couldn't be bigger than 4 x 5.
p.s. Also I had to be sure that the background lines/colors in the flap matched the ones beneath it. Very difficult with watercolors.
Wow! Congratulations, Paige! I'm so happy for you!
Beautiful cover. Can't wait to go to the bookstore and buy it!
