I'm doing these recent paintings to practice and figure out which styles I want to do my books in. The book sketches are almost done so I'll have to make up my mind very soon!
I added some 'ink' digitally since my scanner isn't picking up the softer pencil outlines too well.

I've loved seeing your work over the years. You just keep getting more amazing. Great characters.
Now, this is exactly the kind of comment that I should print out and tape above my art desk during the numerous days that I feel I'm just not good enough. Many thanks, Guy!

It looks like their happy journey to school is lots of fun :o)
(Not so sure on the digital ink line bit, it looks a bit too solid. But all the rest is pure joy to see.)
Wonderful characters-- really love that elephant! I wonder why scanners are so lacking when it comes to picking up pencil!? My digital camera sometimes does a better job than my scanner.
