A few years ago I went to the local shelter, determined to adopt a middle-aged cat. Someone who needed a home. As soon as I walked in a kitten in one of the cages chose me. Despite my pleas not to, my sister opened the cage and picked her up, and the moment she put her paw on my face, exactly like this, it was game over. She sits in the next chair as I type this.
Your illustrations are SO wonderful, all of them - I have visited your blog before but had lost the link, and I was so pleased to find you again through Illustration Friday. I look forward to returning often.
Thanks Bambi! And what a heart warming story. I don't think I could put a kitten back after that happened either. It was as though she was saying "I'm the one for you, take me home."
Thanks Eric! :0)
Me too Paula--I don't have cats anymore, but I sure to miss having one. A little head strong cat named Angus comes around here once in a while to visit my bird feeder.....sweet cat but I have to keep an eye out.

Also: I LOVE the Jack Russell. I know that look.
Great picture Paige!
Such a unique little face on Kitty! I love the soft, warm feeling of a paw. Thanks for the reminder with the excellent illustration!
How cute paige! Love the kids expression! :o)

Thanks Alicia! What's up, girl?
I've just been drawing a little boy holding a baby in a similar position but oh dear. Mine looks very laboured after seeing this one - I love it!
